450 Records Label – That’s a wrap!
That’s a wrap! It has been a lot of fun doing this project with my cohort at UTS. I have gotten to meet more people in my course and see how talented everyone is around me. The project involved everyone having a role within the record label 450 Records. My roles were recording engineer and social media strategist. In the final weeks, we had the launch event for the artists and I also got to host that which was a lot of fun. I definitely realised how much work goes into a music label and how crucial it is to communicate and work together with those around you. While there were errors and issues along the way it is crazy how we made money, grew our social media and created such a fun night even with the limitations of COVID.
I got to work closely with Ashley who is awesome in audio and we had so much fun in the studio recording for hours on end with our artists Linden Norton and Victoria Cutts.
I got to do social media marketing for three artists Victoria, Linden and Declan Travers on the 450recordsuts Instagram page. This was a lot of fun! I got to be creative with Canva and the awesome photos that Emily Li took (the label photographer).
I also had the pleasure to work with some awesome session musicians: Jaeha Parc (Bass) and James Bongers (Electric guitar).
We all had a blast! Again thank you to Jaimee and Julian the label executives, our teachers Jeff and Monica and to everyone else within the label for all working together to create an awesome project in the end.
